Fragrant and refined, this lovely red features violet, wild berry, incense and crushed aromatic herb aromas. The bright linear palate offers juicy cherry, cranberry, star anise and a hint of coffee bean alongside silky tannins and nervous acidity. Drink through 2023.

The 2020 Rosso di Montalcino is darkly alluring, lifting from the glass a bouqiuet of crushed violets, blackberries and smoke. Its silky textures soothe all that they touch, as ripe red and black fruits settle upon the senses. There is an elegance here not often found within the Rosso category, as the 2020 tapers off lightly structured, òeaving licorice and black currants nuances to linger.

Made from declassified Brunello grapes in Castelnuovo dell’Abate, this Rosso is fresh and fragrant with pristine blackberry scents accompanied by a hint of chocolate. Very spicy on the attack, it features wild black fruits then a chocolatey mid-palate with a streak of raspberry coulis. Good structure and zingy freshness.

Vivid red. Aromas of violet, red berries and herbs on the inviting nose. Balances fresh juicy red fruit flavors with more savory echoes of allspice and herbs. Lingers nicely on the bright finish. Made from the estate’s youngest Sangiovese vines, La Fiorita first made a Rosso di Montalcino only in the 2014 vintage.

The 2018 Rosso di Montalcino shows cherry, blackberry, moist earth and pressed violets. Rosso di Montalcino captures the less formal side of the appellation, but these wines should not go overlooked. There's great value and lots of Sangiovese character to be found in this category. With this edition, you get fresh cherry and menthol to enjoy with a tagliatelle and porcini.

The 2016 Rosso di Montalcino shows a deep, healthy garnet color that is a site to behold. This wine is immediately attractive to all the senses, especially the nose. It offers intense but nicely measured aromas of wild berry, blueberry and dried raspberry. Beyond those primary fruit notes are territory-specific aromas of tar, potting soil and balsam herb. This is a classic Rosso di Montalcino. Some 10,500 bottles were made and you get terrific value here.
