Lustrous ruby with orange tinges. Brooding, concentrated nose with sweetly spiced oak, but none of that oppressive vanilla stuff. Plenty of concentration on the palate but still compact and tightly knit with chewy tannins that make themselves felt but without overpowering the fruit. Clearly

Deep red. Captivating aromas of red cherry, strawberry, sweet pipe tobacco, and flint. Impressively built, multifaceted and layered, this boasts very pure and round flavors similar to the aromas. The finish is long and dense, and features polished tannins and a suave texture. Knockout Brunello, probably the best I have had from La Fiorita in a very long time, and likely ever. Noticeably less floral than the 2015 classico Brunello from this estate but more complex and much deeper. Made with grapes taken from the best part of the Pian Bossolino and Poggio al Sole vineyards. The NO on the label stands for Natalie Oliveros, the estate owner; a real knockout, this wine is only made in the best vintages.
A special 3,200-bottle release culled from a selection of Sangiovese from their Pian Bossolino and Poggio al Sole plots, the La Fiorita 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Fiore di No is a very convincing wine that offers much more depth and complexity than the estate's classic Brunello. The wine opens to dark fruit, spice and camphor ash and then shows a very complete, wide-brush-stroke approach to the grape. You get the dark primary fruit, the depth and the length on the mouthfeel.
La Fiorita's 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Fiore di No shows a saturated and nicely enriched presentation with dark ruby highlights. Compared to the estate's classic Brunello, this special selection offers increased concentration and density with blackberry and cherry highlighted by spice, campfire ash and grilled herb. The fruit for this wine comes from three sites: the best part of Pian Bossolino, Poggio al Sole and Giardinello. But like the other wine, Fiore di No has that distinctive sweet spot with cherry, candied orange and sweet baking spice. This limited 3,200-bottle release is characterized by brightness, linearity and increased focus.

Deep lustrous ruby. Huge nose of cherry with gentle, complex oak notes. Rich yet compact and with perfectly integrated acidity. This is big, but not brutal. Long, lush and juicy with a tannic kick on the !nish and hints of gingerbread. Youthful sweetness indicates this needs more time in bottle. (WS) 15%

Enveloping and delicious, this fragrant red opens with aromas of ripe plum, baking spice, blue flower and an earthy whiff of new leather. Full bodied and concentrated, it also has an almost weightless grace and poise, delivering succulent black cherry, fleshy raspberry, star anise and cinnamon before an espresso close. Fine-grained tannins provide polished support. Drink 2024–2031
Macerated plum, black cherry, spice and iron aromas and flavors are matched to a vibrant structure in this red, which is firm and dry, with the muscular tannins wrapping the lingering finish in their strong grip. Shows energy from beginning to end. Best from 2024 through 2045. —B.S.
This is both decadent in flavor and weight yet remains agile, displaying an expansive array of cocoa, orange zest, cherry stones, walnuts and pine cones. Full-bodied, with firm, seamless tannins. Excellent integration. Drink from 2025.
Fiore di NO is a selection from three of La Fiorita’s four vineyards; the final blend depends very much on the vintage. In 2018, the backbone came from Collosorbo in the south, backed up by Giardinello in the west and a splash of Pian Bossolino in the east. It bears an obvious family resemblance with the estate Brunello but offers slightly more drama and intricacy. From a backdrop of cherry and strawberry, nuances of allspice, brushwood and anise emerge. The generous core is well corseted with robust yet polished tannins, then juiciness on the finish.
Deep red. Violet, ripe red fruit and pot pourri on the nose and in the mouth. Finishes warm, with hints of coffee and Rocky Road ice cream. Very much in the style of the year, so if you like big ripe wines, this is the drink for you. Personally I would have liked a little more lift. Drinking window: 2027-2034.
Medium deep developed ruby colour with an orange rim. Sweet, floral and perfumed nose with notes of black truffle, fine spices, ripe cherry, raspberry, tobacco and fine oak notes underneath. Lovely intensity with seductive sweet fruit enveloped in a silky texture with powdery tannin, dark chocolate, truffle and spice notes with excellent power, freshness and a tremendous finish.

The cherry, black-olive and dried-strawberry aromas are so attractive. Hints of cinnamon and licorice. Full-bodied, round and rich with lots of fruit and velvety tannins. Extremely flavorful and rich. Drink after 2022
This has sophisticated aromas of fresh and dried blackberries, lavender, cloves and porcini mushrooms. It’s full-bodied with such richness to the fruit and a deep center palate. Firm, ultra fine tannins with dried-flower and spice character. Great length, too. Drink from 2023.
The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Fiore di NO from La Fiorita is sweet and seductively spiced with masses of black cherries, mixed with cinnamon and clove. The textures are silky-smooth, ushering in ripe red fruits laced with minerals, as pretty inner florals amass toward the close. This turns grippy and structured through the finale; yet there’s something so drinkable and energetic about the Fiore di NO, that it will be hard to keep your hands off of it upon release.
Dried roses and cloves give way to scant black cherry and hints of mocha as the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Fiore di No unfolds in the glass. This glides across the palate with pure elegance, velvety-smooth, with a contrasting tug of tart wild berries and hints of sour citrus. It finishes with a cheek-puckering saturation of primary concentration and fine- grained tannins that clench its lingering hints of licorice and spice.
Once called Fiore di No, the La Fiorita 2018 Brunello di Montalcino No is a darkly saturated, full-bodied wine with thick layers of black fruit, blackcurrant, sweet spice, earth and baking chocolate. The wine is brooding and dense with a textural dynamic that underlines mouthfeel and power. A hefty 15% alcohol content certainly adds to that oversized power.
